Scholarship Auditions 2017

$1,000 Best Performance Award selected from the 3 First Place Winners
Walter Sechriest Award- Judges select the best performance in any category from the First Place Winners.
Winner receives an additional $1,000.

Judges will select First and Second Place winners in each category. No student who has won the first prize (or shared the prize for first place) in any previous year will be eligible to compete again.

Winners must use the award during the 2017-2018 academic years for undergraduate work in the above fields at an accredited college in the State of Alabama. The maximum age for contestants is 23 years (at the time of competition).

The application form should be completed in full and mailed to Kimberly Strickland, P.O. Box 1351, Birmingham, AL 35201, with your application fee of $25.00 (payable to the Guild of the Birmingham Music Club). Applications must be received or postmarked by February 17, 2017. All auditions are in person; tape recordings cannot be accepted. If you have questions regarding the auditions, please email Kimberly Strickland, kstrickland@asfa.k12.al.us.

Winners Perform for the Guild

The First Place winners will be honored and will perform on the Program of the Spring Luncheon for the Guild of the Birmingham Music Club on Friday, April 14, 2017. Failure to participate may result in forfeiture of the scholarship award.
