Winner receives an additional $1,000 for a total of $2,500.

A Panel of three distinguished judges will choose the winner in each category. The panel of judges will have the discretion to not make an award in a category if they feel it is not warranted. No student who has won the first prize (or shared the prize for first place) in any previous year will be eligible to compete again.

Winners must use the award during the 2012-2013 academic years for undergraduate work in the above fields at any accredited college in the State of Alabama. The maximum age for contestants is 23 years (at the time of competition).

The application form should be completed in full and mailed to Deborah O’Connor, 217 Country Club Park #324, Mountain Brook, AL 35213, with your application fee of $25.00 (payable to the Guild of the Birmingham Music Club). Your application will not be considered unless it is postmarked on or before February 11, 2012. You will be notified of your specific audition time by February 24, 2012. Winners Perform for the Guild

The winners of the 2012 Scholarship Auditions will perform on the Program of the Spring Luncheon for the Guild of the Birmingham Music Club on Friday, April 13, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. Failure to participate may result in forfeiture of the scholarship award.
